FERRY
If you arrive on the mid-morning Cal Mac ferry from Ardrossan, you can walk from the pier to the golf course, and comfortably be on the first tee by 11.30. That leaves you ample time for an enjoyable round of golf, and a snack or a meal in the Clubhouse, before you catch the late afternoon boat back to the mainland. If you’re feeling energetic, you can sail on the early ferry from Ardrossan, play a full 36 holes, have lunch in between the rounds, and still have plenty of relaxing, friendly and well-earned time in the clubhouse, before you return to the mainland on the last ferry.
TRAIN
Trains from Glasgow Central direct to Ardrossan harbour are timed to meet the ferry. The same applies for the return journey. Normally only the first 3 carriages carry passengers to the station at the harbour so please check you are in the correct carriage. Scotrail sells a return “rail and sail” ticket which covers both the train and ferry fare from any station on the mainland to Brodick.
BY CAR
If you intend to come over to the island as a foot passenger on the ferry, you can leave your car in the secure car park at Ardrossan Harbour. If you would rather bring your car over to the island, you need to book the ferry in advance, and arrive at Ardrossan at least half an hour before the ferry is due to depart.
Passenger tickets can be purchased at the ferry terminal. Meals and refreshments are available on board.
